As the Accessory Sourcing Manager, this person is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to procure high quality accessories such as bags, belts, hats and other small leather goods. This role requires hands on experience sourcing and developing leather accessories, with a strong understanding of leather materials, construction techniques, hardware, and finishing. The Accessory Sourcing Manager ensures all products meet design specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines while optimizing cost and aligning with the brand aesthetic and market trends.

This role collaborates closely with the design, product development, and merchandising teams to source accessories that complement the apparel collection.
Proven experience with leather goods sourcing and development is essential for success in this role.

Reports to: SVP Production and Sourcing

• Supplier Identification and Development:
  • Research and identify potential new accessory suppliers globally, considering factors like quality, price, production capabilities.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key accessory and specialty item suppliers. Collaborate with SVP of Production/Sourcing to set target pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with SVP of Production/Sourcing and Team members to incorporate factory audits, assess production capacity, quality control processes, and compliance with Industry standards.
• Product Development and Sourcing:
  • Collaborate with design teams to translate accessory concepts into production ready specifications, including leather types, material selection, construction details, edge finishes, stitching, and hardware.
  • Develop and manage accessory sourcing strategies with a strong focus on leather accessories to ensure timely delivery of samples and bulk production. Collaborate with SVP of Production and Sourcing to align with existing strategies.
  • Source raw materials and components such as leather, hardware, fabric, and trims based on design requirements, performance standards, and cost considerations.
• Quality Control and Inspection:
  • Establish and implement quality control procedures for accessories, particularly leather goods, including pre-production, in line, and final inspection processes.
  • Monitor quality standards and address issues related to leather quality, construction, and finishing with suppliers to maintain product integrity.
• Cost Management and Negotiation:
  • Analyze cost breakdowns from suppliers and negotiate prices to achieve optimal cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier optimization, material selection, and production process improvements.
• Research and Trend Analysis:
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in the accessory and leather goods market to identify potential new product opportunities. Set meetings with Design Teams and Creative Director for future planning and strategies.
  • Analyze market data to inform sourcing decisions and ensure accessory offerings align with current fashion trends and consumer expectations.

• Proven experience sourcing and developing leather accessories and small leather goods.
• Strong knowledge of leather materials, tanning methods, construction techniques, and hardware sourcing.
