POSITION PURPOSE

* This Position is for 3rd Shift (Sun-Thurs, 11:00pm - 7:30am) The Liquid Room/Compounding Supervisor is responsible for supervising compounders and material handlers for New York operations. This role oversees the preparation of liquid batches used in the manufacturing process and ensures compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Supervise compounding technicians in the operation of the compounding room.
  • Ensure liquid batches are manufactured to approved specifications in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Execute departmental requirements based on the daily production schedule supporting multiple production lines and products.
  • Hire, train, coach, and counsel compounding staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Purchase and maintain departmental supplies.
  • Maintain all documentation required to support cGMP compliance.
  • Oversee hazardous waste accumulation and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate chemical inventory records.
  • Support pilot plant batch preparation activities.
  • Troubleshoot batching and processing issues to minimize downtime and waste.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • Waste and scrap metrics
  • Audit observations and compliance findings

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • B.S. in Engineering or Chemistry or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must have general knowledge of processing equipment principles
  • Basic understanding of electronics and mechanical systems.

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • 5
    -10 years of supervisory experience in a technically intensive manufacturing or processing environment
  • Prior hands-on experience operating processing equipment.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, 24-hour manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Proven ability to hire, train, coach, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and compounding environment
  • Regular exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, noise, and temperature variations
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas
  • Must be available to support overtime, weekends, and off-shift needs as required by production demands
  • Environment is highly regulated, requiring strict adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards

SALARY RANGE

  • $75,000 - $90,000 annually, plus bonus
