Riverhawk Company is a New Hartford‑based manufacturer specializing in hydraulic tensioning systems, custom engineered tooling, and precision solutions for rotating equipment across industrial, energy, and emerging technology markets. We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to join our day‑shift team (Monday‑Friday, 6:00am‑2:30pm). This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce high‑mix, low‑volume precision components that meet exact specifications and quality standards.
WhatYou'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce a variety of products and parts to specification
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
- Perform in‑process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Make program edits and offsets as needed to ensure quality and efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and company standards
- Minimum five (5) years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and GD&T
- Experience with tight tolerances and high‑precision parts
- Knowledge of feed and speed
- Experience machining stainless steel, alloy steels, and other specialty materials
- Familiarity with high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing
- Familiarity with ISO‑style quality systems
- Demonstrate excellent safety practices & housekeeping
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Manual machining experience and/or grind experience a plus
- Willingness to work a minimum of eight hours of overtime per week on an as‑needed basis during busy times
- Pay range - $22.50–30.00/hr (range may vary based on experience, knowledge, skills, and education)
- 96 hours of PTO and an additional 56 hours of paid sick leave annually for new hires, with additional PTO added after five years of service
