Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Engineer
An established leader in the manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee a high-speed canning and packaging operation at one of its manufacturing facilities. This role is ideal for a results-driven operations leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment and is passionate about continuous improvement, safety, and team development.
Position OverviewThe Plant Manager will be responsible for the full scope of manufacturing operations, including multiple high-speed production lines producing metal containers and food packaging components. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in mechanical systems, process optimization, and leadership to drive excellence in productivity, safety, and product quality.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide hands‑on leadership for all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.
Develop and implement process improvements to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality.
Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
Lead daily production meetings and set operational targets aligned with company goals.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, FDA, etc.).
Evaluate production, maintenance, and quality reports to identify root causes of nonconformance and develop corrective action plans.
Manage departmental budgets, production scheduling, and resource allocation to meet customer and business demands.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork throughout the facility.
Support workforce development through hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of supervisory and production staff.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic plans for capacity expansion, technology upgrades, and process modernization.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent technical training and experience).
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in plant or operations management within food, beverage, or consumer goods manufacturing.
Demonstrated experience with high-speed production systems
, canning or form-fill-seal equipment, packaging automation, or similar process manufacturing environments.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and thermal processing systems.
Proven success leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational and financial targets.
Proficient in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
