What You’ll DoAs a Metal Finisher, you’ll be responsible for preparing, grinding, sanding, and polishing fabricated steel components to meet Raulli & Sons’ quality and safety standards. You’ll work closely with fabricators, welders, and shop leadership to ensure materials are properly finished, defect-free, and ready for fabrication, painting, or installation. This position is at our Kirkville shop located at 6333 N Kirkville Rd.
Core Responsibilities:
- Use grinders, sanders, and hand tools to smooth welds, edges, and surfaces
- Inspect materials for imperfections and correct irregularities
- Clean and prep steel parts for paint, galvanizing, or field use
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, organized work area
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Follow all OSHA and company safety policies
- Perform other shop tasks as assigned to support production schedules
Requirements
- Previous experience in metal finishing, fabrication, or a related trade preferred
- High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly (occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance)
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and stoop throughout the shift
- Ability to perform repetitive hand motions and fine manipulation
- Work in a loud, indoor production environment with exposure to heat, vibration, and slippery surfaces
- Required PPE: steel-toed, slip-resistant boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirator (when required), and hearing protection
