DescriptionRockland Bakery is a high-volume commercial bakery specializing in premium cakes, desserts, and baked goods for retail, wholesale, and food service partners. We pride ourselves on exceptional product quality, innovation, and efficient production processes. You will oversee the daily operations of the cake & pastry production department, ensuring consistent product quality, adherence to food safety standards, and efficient workflow. This role manages a team of decorators, mixers, and production staff.
We are looking for culinary expertise combined with strong leadership skills.
- 3+ years of cake production experience in a commercial bakery or food manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of supervisory or team‑lead experience
- Experience in cake decorating, baking, pastry arts or culinary roles within a food production or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking methods, and bakery equipment operation
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively in a fast‑paced bakery setting
- Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with packaging baked goods for retail or wholesale distribution
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as production demands.
- Supervise production lines, including baking, assembling, icing, and decorating.
- Train, lead, and evaluate cake decorators and production team members.
- Ensure all products meet quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
- Monitor production schedules to meet daily/weekly output targets.
Oversee food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with food safe regulations and sanitation standards - Train and mentor bakery staff
- Manage inventory levels for ingredients, packaging materials, and bakery supplies to optimize efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace in accordance with health codes
- Support customer service efforts by assisting with special orders
