SummaryThe Engineering Assembler is a senior assembler with broad experience in high‑complexity mechanical and electrical assembly. You work independently on all production types, support engineering change implementation, lead training efforts, and act as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and quality.
Requirements- Serve as the go‑to technical expert for mechanical and electrical assembly issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on new designs, prototypes, and process improvements.
- Take lead on high‑mix, low‑volume complex builds and non‑standard assemblies.
- Lead root cause analysis of assembly‑related defects and develop corrective actions.
- Perform advanced soldering (e.g., fine‑pitch, coaxial cable termination, PCB rework).
- Champion adherence to IPC standards and conduct internal audits or checks if certified.
- Coordinate training and onboarding for Levels 1 and 2; may support performance evaluations.
- Suggest and implement process or tool improvements that reduce build times or improve quality.
- Maintain compliance and drive best practices in ESD, safety, and ergonomic practices.
- Participate in root cause analysis of assembly‑related defects and work with engineering to develop corrective actions.
- Perform advanced soldering and complex reworks (e.g., fine‑pitch, PCB rework, test cables).
- 5+ years experience in mechanical/electro‑mechanical assembly roles.
- Must be fluent in written English.
- IPC J‑STD‑001 and IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 certifications required.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
