Production Manager – Emulsion Blending & Packaging; Cosmetics

AYO Labs is an innovative and rapidly expanding personal care product manufacturer specializing in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) services for top-tier brands. We design and produce high-quality personal care products for a diverse client base, and we support emerging personal care brands through formulation, product development, and manufacturing.

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Manager to execute and oversee emulsion blending and packaging operations within our cosmetics manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring the consistent quality, efficiency, and safety of our production processes, particularly in the formulation and blending of emulsions used in skincare, haircare, and beauty products.

The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of day‑to‑day production at our manufacturing facility. This includes managing production, optimizing processes, ensuring quality and safety, managing equipment and materials, and building and leading a team over time. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in production processes, has worked their way up from floor technician to supervisor, and is ready to take the next step in their career.

Production Oversight:

• Manage daily operations of emulsion blending, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards
• Supervise batching, mixing, and filling processes for creams, lotions, serums, and other emulsion‑based products
• Hire, lead, and train production staff, including line operators and technicians
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Quality Control:

• Collaborate with R&D and Quality Assurance to ensure formulations meet specifications
• Monitor in‑process controls, and troubleshoot deviations and inconsistencies

Process Optimization:

• Identify and implement improvements in blending techniques, equipment utilization, and workflow efficiency
• Maintain and update SOPs and batch records in compliance with GMP standards

Inventory & Equipment Management:

• Coordinate raw material inventory and ensure timely availability for production
• Oversee maintenance and calibration of blending equipment and tanks

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure operations comply with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, GMP)
• Conduct safety audits and enforce hygiene protocols in production areas

• 2+ years of operator level experience in emulsion blending in a food or cosmetics environment
• Strong understanding of emulsification techniques and equipment
• Extraordinary candidate will have maintenance background in pumps and packaging equipment.
• Proven leadership and team management skills; you will be hiring/building your own team in the near future
• Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills

• Experience with high‑shear mixers, jacketed kettles, homogenizers, and vacuum emulsifiers
• Experience with filling operations and technology
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations and batch traceability
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus

• $75,000 - $95,000 per year
