Machinist B – Westbury, NY

We are looking for a Machinist B for our Westbury, NY facility. Under limited supervision, you will perform intricate manufacturing parts using manual and computerized machining operations to fabricate parts and components for a wide variety of systems.

• Work from blueprints and verbal instructions to layout sequential details of machining operations and prototype assembly setups for a variety of machine parts.
• Set up and operate multiple machine tools such as CNC, millers, grinders, sheet‑metal equipment, and hand tools.
• Use machine‑shop measuring and gauging devices to align and machine metal or plastic parts to meet specifications.
• May train and provide technical direction to other machinists.
• Operate and maintain machines following the TPM maintenance schedule.
• Keep tools and work area safe, clean, and orderly (5S routines).
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Participate in root‑cause corrective actions (RCCA) on machine operation.
• Use prescribed PPE and follow safety policies.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High school or technical school, plus two years apprenticeship training and 3 to 7 years diversified machining experience.
• Ability to use handbook formulas and advanced shop mathematics.

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $24.00 to $30.00 per hour. Some positions may also offer eligibility for a discretionary incentive program. The total compensation package includes base salary plus benefits effective day one.
