job summary
the machine maintenance technician is responsible for performing all machine related maintenance (scheduled or unscheduled), the installation of new equipment, and the trouble shooting/repair of the molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
available shifts: 1st shift, monday-friday, 6:00am-2:00pm
starting pay: $24 per hour
locations: auburn, ny
status: hourly/non-exempt
department: maintenance
reports to: machine maintenance manager
duties and responsibilities
- perform general routine mechanical maintenance functions to ensure that machines are running at an optimal level
- perform unscheduled maintenance as needed to minimize downtime
- assist with the set-up and/or movement of machines and auxiliary equipment using piv equipment as needed
- respond to requests made by production departments to troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures and minimize downtime
- must be willing and available for “on-call” assignments as indicated by the maintenance manager and/or management team

qualifications
minimum qualifications:
a high school diploma or ged and 5+ years of manufacturing/mechanical experience.working knowledge in the following fields: mechanical, electrical and/or facilities maintenance.ability to work with minimal supervision.possess an attention for detail with a high degree of accuracy.basic computer experience/proficiency.ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and sops, as well as write routine correspondences, reports, and procedures.ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.must apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.ability to problem solve involving several variables in working situations.piv (power industrial vehicle) certified or ability to become piv certified.participate in and successfully pass random/pre promotion or transfer drug testing due to safety sensitive nature of job requiring a power industrial vehicle permit.preferred qualifications:
six months iqms experienceprevious mechanical experienceprevious production related training/certifications while example, piv certifiedcompetencies
