Job Description Summary

In this position, you will operate and maintain multiple furnaces according to NQWI 4.09.2.16 standards, assembling and brazing metal and ceramic parts using various braze alloys.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 year manufacturing experience
  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, calipers, gauges, dial indicators)
  • Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
  • Proficient in basic computer applications
  • Willingness to operate high-temperature ovens and furnaces

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Support team initiatives; receive guidance and feedback
  • Cross-train colleagues as needed
  • Complete labor tracking documentation accurately
  • Communicate effectively with team members about issues and processes
  • Select and set up tools and fixtures for annealing and hardening
  • Assemble and braze parts following specifications and tolerances
  • Operate and maintain furnaces per standards
  • Adjust equipment parameters as directed
  • Ensure parts meet quality and certification standards
  • Assist with prototypes or first builds
  • Support maintenance and calibration tasks
  • Log data and maintain documentation for NADCAP compliance
  • Complete required training and recertification
  • Communicate professionally with peers and leadership
  • Report problems promptly
  • Work to improve efficiency and quality
  • Follow safety procedures and use PPE
  • Adhere to GE leadership behaviors
  • Perform other duties as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in self-directed teams
  • Furnace operation experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of 6S and lean manufacturing

Physical Demands

  • Repetitive hand and finger use
  • Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, climbing, balancing
  • Sitting for extended periods; lifting up to 20 lbs.; pushing/pulling up to 22 lbs.

The pay is $21.60/hr plus $2/hr shift differential, with potential annual bonuses. The posting closes on 3/31/25. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, prescriptions, 401(k), tuition and adoption assistance, paid parental leave, disability, life insurance, and paid time off.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; final offers depend on obtaining necessary authorization.
