The Brand Labor Planning & Productivity Analyst partners with the Brand Leadership Team to optimize store labor spend through detailed labor requirement modeling, forecasting, and performance analysis. This role develops by-store, by-department labor budgets and projections, ensuring alignment between operational needs and financial expectations.
Working closely with the Labor Lead and VP Operations support, the Analyst provides actionable insights and professional guidance on labor scheduling practices, productivity opportunities, and wage efficiency to support strategic decision-making.
What you bring to the table:Labor Planning & Forecasting
- Collaborate with Brand Leadership to develop consistent, standardized methods for forecasting and managing labor requirements across stores and departments.
- Translate sales forecasts into detailed labor models - defining labor hours and costs by department and by period for each store.
- Partner with the finance team to align labor projections with financial budgets, including new stores, initiatives, and contractual assumptions.
- Prepare pro forma labor analyses for new stores, replacements, and remodels - projecting labor dollars, wage %, average hourly rate (AHR), and productivity trends.
- Conduct cost analyses for new programs and initiatives using labor standards to estimate the financial impact of business changes (e.g., department reconfigurations or process modifications).
- Analyze Average Hourly Rate improvement opportunities through full-time/part-time mix modeling, overtime reduction, and scheduling optimization.
- Identify opportunities for labor expense reduction through benchmarking, peer group modeling, and exception-based reporting.
- Serve as the labor liaison between Store Operations leadership, Regional VPs, District Directors, and Store teams.
- Review and validate store labor projections each week and period.
- Evaluate requests for additional or reduced labor based on operational or structural changes.
- Recommend adjustments or absorption strategies in coordination with the VP, Store Operations.
- Communicate labor trends, budget variances, and financial implications to stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.
- Deliver weekly and period wage KPI reports, identifying underperforming stores and training opportunities.
- Work with District Directors and RVPs to address performance gaps and improve labor efficiency.
- Ensure all workforce management metrics, reporting standards, and KPIs adhere to company methodologies and best practices.
- 7+ years experience working in a multi unit retail environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years' experience
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with a focus on labor productivity and cost optimization.
- Ability to build and manage Power
BI dashboards - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities - comfortable engaging with cross-functional leaders at all levels.
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset for identifying operational improvement opportunities.
- Experience in retail or multi-unit labor planning, FP&A, or operations analysis.
- Advanced Excel and data visualization skills; familiarity with workforce management systems preferred.

The salary range is $72,880-$109,320 and will be commensurate with background, experience as well as internal equity.
