Position SummaryThe Supervisor of Facilities and Maintenance oversees the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of the warehouse facility, equipment, and systems. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment that supports warehouse operations, including refrigeration (if applicable), mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, and building infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of building systems and warehouse equipment.
- Oversee and schedule maintenance staff and contractors to ensure timely completion of work orders and projects.
- Ensure all facility systems (HVAC, lighting, dock equipment, conveyors, fire suppression, security, etc.) are properly maintained and operational.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate service records.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts; coordinate purchasing as needed.
- Partner with operations leadership to support continuous improvement, safety, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, local codes).
- Respond promptly to emergencies and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime or disruptions.
- Support capital projects, renovations, and new equipment installations.
- Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance team members to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field preferred. - Experience:
3–5 years of maintenance supervision experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment. - Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and building systems.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong safety awareness and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, noisy, or dusty areas).
- May require on-call availability for emergencies or critical maintenance needs.
Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends or evenings as needed.
