We’re looking for a motivated and experienced, client‑service‑focused Principal to join our growing team of multi‑discipline professionals, delivering outstanding planning, design, and construction management services to our New York City metropolitan region clients and beyond in our core markets:
Transportation, Water, and Cities & Places.

You will be a strategic part of our transportation team, functioning cross‑market to deliver climate adaptation and resilient infrastructure, with a concentration in alternative delivery. Leading a portfolio of impactful projects, ranging from integrated public realm improvements to multimodal port and transportation electrification and decarbonization initiatives, you’ll be part of Jacobs initiatives that make our communities and businesses more sustainable and resilient to the impacts of climate change.

• Serve as a project executive and work as a principal providing leadership to our delivery teams, responding to client resilience needs throughout all phases of project development and delivery.
• Organize and mentor staff involved in Jacobs’ Northeast and Mid‑Atlantic Regional Resilience Strategy with an immediate focus in the NYC region, participating fully in Jacobs' global market strategy by connecting with regional leadership & talent.
• Lead and/or support resilience‑related pursuits across transportation, water, and cities & places markets in partnership with Client Account Managers (CAMs), including identifying emerging client needs and opportunities in climate resilience across the region.
• Shape and be at the forefront of project creation/definition, positioning Jacobs early in the process including participating in development of proposals, staffing plans, project delivery budgets / fee documents, and delivery schedules to meet deliverable commitments.
• Manage teams delivering projects, working closely with our clients as the company’s main point of contact on assigned projects and/or clients to ensure expectations are identified and met. Provide leadership, working collaboratively with our multi‑disciplinary team of engineers, planners, architects, and scientists to lead complex waterfront projects across the New York City region and beyond, including responsibility for both schedule, budget, and contract administration.
• Provide effective, skilled project management to deliver large complex and/or multiple resiliency projects on time, within budget, and per contracted scope, adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.
• Apply your technical expertise to lead project teams in the development of design and project documentation by providing overall direction to the team, coordinating with external project stakeholders, internal team members, and subcontractors.
• Mentor staff, partnering with our Client Account Management teams and Design & Delivery Managers to drive professional development that supports the highest level of service to our clients, aligning local key staff with regional resilience strategies and ways to integrate resilience into their pursuits and projects.
• Build capacity across interdisciplinary skill sets: e.g., develop and deliver training sessions, including lunch‑and‑learns, to build awareness and capabilities around climate resilience among Northeast staff (leveraging our ADAPT tool).
• Interact with client organizations, advising client service teams and bringing thought leadership to serve new clients, particularly in municipal and higher education markets.
• Build upon your existing and new client relationships to organize and develop teams to pursue planning, consulting, design, and alternative delivery work.
