Senior Vice President

A premier heavy civil contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across New York is seeking a Senior Vice President of Civil Construction to lead and expand one of the region’s most established civil operations.

This is a true executive leadership opportunity for a senior civil construction leader who wants to take ownership of a major operation, influence strategic direction, and play a defining role in the next phase of company growth.

The successful candidate will inherit a strong backlog of infrastructure work, an established leadership team, and significant market presence, while being empowered to scale operations, strengthen performance, and expand market share across the region.

The Senior Vice President will have full executive oversight of civil construction operations, including project execution, financial performance, leadership development, and strategic growth initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to run a major civil division with significant autonomy, supported by a strong operational and estimating infrastructure.

You will play a central role in defining the company’s long-term civil strategy and will be instrumental in strengthening relationships with public agencies and key clients throughout New York. • Provide executive leadership for all civil construction operations across the region
• Oversee a portfolio of complex heavy civil and infrastructure projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Drive profitability, operational performance, and margin improvement
• Establish and implement operational strategies to support long-term growth
• Build, mentor, and strengthen a high-performing leadership team
• Ensure consistent execution standards across all projects
• Partner with estimating and business development teams on major pursuits
• Maintain strong executive-level relationships with public agencies and key clients
• Ensure industry-leading performance in safety and quality
• Lead organizational planning and succession development
• Identify opportunities for expansion into new markets and sectors
• Implement systems and processes that improve operational efficiency

• 20+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction
• Significant executive or division leadership experience
• Proven track record managing large-scale infrastructure operations
• Experience overseeing multiple major projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated success managing large operational teams
• Strong financial and P&L management expertise
• Experience working with public infrastructure clients
• Experience managing union labor environments strongly preferred
