Description
- Makes rounds of the facility and conducts unit inspections with Case Managers.
- Responds to issues raised by residents and intervenes as necessary.
- Reports all building issues to Program Director and Property Manager in a timely manner.
- Responds to emergencies and contacts Program Director for all emergencies.
- Maintains the emergency contact file and submits all required reports.
- Participates in staff meetings, and supervision with Program Director.
- Monitors all residents, staff and visitors entering and leaving the facility.
- Manage fire safety and other emergency procedures.
- Monitors Fire Panel and when necessary, goes to resident apartment to assess why smoke detector was triggered/triggers fire panel to dispatch fire department
- Supports team in conducting quarterly fire drills
- Conducts “Lockouts” letting residents into their units.
- Attends to emergency calls from tenants.
- Attend program and agency staff meetings, supervisory and in-service training sessions and external meetings throughout the community.
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by the Program Director, Managing Director of Supportive & Economic Empowerment, and/or Deputy Executive Director of Community & Economic Empowerment.
- New York State Security Guard License
- 8hr & 16hr Certificate Required.
- Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years’ experience in social services or in a residential setting.
- Strong verbal communication and decision‑making skills are required, as is the ability to work well with and be supportive of residents.
- The Senior Residential Aide must be able to consistently and fairly enforce house rules.
- Spanish fluency is preferred.
Compensation: $45,000-$50,000
Location: Far Rockaway, NY
