- Develop and execute near term and long-term strategic plan for designated portfolio
- Own full P&L responsibility for assigned portfolio, including sales, margin, inventory, and turn
- Lead financial planning processes including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and monthly/quarterly business reviews; actively manage business to achieve financial targets and maximize performance
- Curate compelling assortment tailored to the Bluemercury customer; build and manage planograms and in-store display programs with appropriate regionalization
- Be the champion for innovation in the portfolio; identify key trends and opportunities, build business cases and lead launches that differentiate the assortment
- Leverage customer, competitive, and market data to inform decisions and proactively manage risks/opportunities; develop action plans with timely execution and effectiveness
- Collaborate with Bluemercury Digital and Marketing teams to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long term
- Build and manage strategic vendor relationships, including ongoing planning and negotiation as well as the elevation of partnerships to create best in class collaborative programs
- Collaborate with Bluemercury Planning team to manage inventory flow, in-stock rates, and service levels
- Develop pricing strategy and maintain rigor in ongoing execution
- Act as the in-house expert on the category and customer; monitor market, competitive, and consumer trends and distill learnings for the organization
- Prepare and deliver presentations to cross-functional colleagues and senior leaders in the organization
- 4 year degree required; MBA a plus
- 5+ years prior experience in specialty retail or beauty environment is required
- Previous professional experience in category management, merchandising, buying, planning & allocation, sales, marketing, or shopper & consumer insights is required
- Strong understanding of retail financials
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including strong presentation skills
- Ability to adapt to changing and ambiguous situations; thrives in a dynamic & fast paced environment
- Exceptional computer skills, including extensive experience in Excel and Power Point
- Experience with IRI data, Nielsen data, and/or Spectra software is a plus
