Job SummaryThe Bench Director of Patient Transport and Observation is responsible for supporting the successful management of supervisors, finances, client relations, patient and customer satisfaction, program quality standards, performance improvement, and personnel performance and productivity. The Bench Director will also oversee the overall planning, organizing, directing and controlling of Patient Transportation and Hospital activities across multiple U.S. hospitals.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data and statistics.
- Travel to various accounts to provide support.
- Develop and recommend department operating budget.
- Coordinate transportation activities and services with other hospital departments.
- Maintain records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
- Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise department functions and activities.
- Establish work standards and workflow.
- Implement policies and procedures for departmental operations.
- Communicate effectively with clients.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Proactively achieve facility goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate proficiency with financial and patient transport software (Team Chimes, Team Transport).
- Manage patient transportation add‑on services such as observation, lift, courier, valet, or shuttle where applicable.
- Four‑year college degree or equivalent experience required.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout an assigned region as needed.
- Previous hospital patient transportation experience preferred.
- Experience supervising staff employees required.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data.
- General business intuition.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a service/quality demeanor.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals.
- High customer service and quality attitude.
