Accounting Manager​/Controller

International Real Estate Management company seeks a Bilingual Japanese Controller in the Manhattan Office. The company owns and manages a high‑rise office building in a prime location in Midtown Manhattan.

• Monthly close of the books and records
• Ensuring compliance with US GAAP
• Understanding the importance of new accounting standards impact on financial reporting
• Influencing the future objectives of financial reporting through technology for automation
• Budgeting, forecasting and function analysis for senior management
• Lead contact between management and Deloitte for annual audit requirements
• Leasing:
  Critical evaluation of leasing transactions
• Strong straight‑line rent preparation and execution for new and modified agreements
• Monitoring uncollectible rents and probability of collection for financial reporting requirements
• Controls:
  Overview of the current business control processes and potential for enhancements
• Management level controls to enhance policies and procedures
• Managing risks for the parent company in Japan
• Lead the accounting department staff members through efficiency and educational viewpoints
• Support tenant selection through

• CPA holder with 5–8 years of Big 4 experience in preparing US GAAP financial statements
• Team player with a small team, multicultural work environment
• Good liaison and communicator to the external auditors and tax advisors
• Accounting knowledge should include lease accounting
• Bilingual Japanese (Read/Write/Speak) Preferable
