A high-profile, corporate events and incentive firm is seeking a strategic and high-impact Director of Sales to lead its New York City team. This organization is recognized for its collaborative, high-performing culture and its commitment to excellence in the luxury and events space. The position provides a platform to influence high-level client strategy while staying deeply connected to the pulse of the city’s premier hotel and partner networks.
Note: This is a hybrid position which requires two days onsite in their Manhattan office.
Position Responsibilities- Lead and manage the local sales team, overseeing daily performance, professional development, and individual coaching through consistent mentorship.
- Recruit, orient, and train new sales professionals to maintain a high-performing, cohesive organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the General Manager and Director of Design to align proposal processes with client needs and maximize win rates.
- Partner with the Events team to ensure client commitments are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Drive lead volume by leveraging hotel, CVB, and DMO partnerships and conducting targeted prospecting.
- Analyze market trends, supply and demand, and competitor activity to maintain high sales volume and optimal product mix.
- Act as the primary liaison for internal sales channels to maximize referral volume across regional offices.
- 7+ years of corporate event sales experience
- Destination Management Company or Third Party Meeting/Incentive Company Experience
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop a diverse sales team.
- Strong strategic mindset with experience managing RFPs and complex proposal processes.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with hotels, partner organizations, and internal stakeholders.
- Professional discretion and accountability when managing sensitive personnel or financial information.
- Ability to work on-site in New York City two days weekly
Compensation Package: $135,000 - $150,000+ (base salary up to $120k plus uncapped sales commission), and comprehensive health benefits, 401k with company match, Unlimited Vacation Time and much more!
