The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee whose primary function is the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, acting as a representative of Regal consistent with our mission statement and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Uphold and administer all theatre policies.
  • Train, develop, coach and supervise non‑management employees.
  • Perform all staff positions as required.
  • Operate all projection and audio‑visual equipment, including film handling and maintenance.
  • Maintain required alcohol certification and training where applicable.
  • Monitor risk management, ensuring employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and proper handling of accidents.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Count, deposit, and reconcile all receipts taken during a business day.
  • Adhere to dress code requirements.
  • Complete or be in process of completing the management certification program.
  • Review and understand the ROM.
  • Conduct interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and, with oversight from the General Manager and Human Resources, the termination of employees, handling all applicable paperwork.
  • Control costs, purchase and order concession and café stock, and manage inventory and auditing processes.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance, perform minor repairs, and obtain qualified personnel for large maintenance concerns.
  • Market and promote feature film engagements, schedule show times, and deliver show times to all proper channels.
  • Read and understand training materials on sexual harassment and discrimination.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities

As assigned by the GM or other senior manager.

Pay Scale Information

$22.50 an hour.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education / Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent. At least three months of supervisory experience or six months of theatre experience with completion of Cast Certification Program, or a combination, or demonstrated leadership potential subject to VP approval.

Language Ability

Good public speaking skills; effectively communicate orally and in writing with employees, vendors, and corporate staff.

Math Ability

Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, and identify and correct errors.

Reasoning Ability

Identify problems, gather relevant data, evaluate alternatives, reach conclusions, recommend solutions, and take action with minimal supervision.

Computer and Office Skills

Proven experience with PC platforms and basic office programs (email, word processing, spreadsheets), operating copiers, maintaining filing systems, and mechanical tasks as required.

Personal Skills

Interface effectively with customers, public, and co‑workers; exhibit sensitivity to others; set goals, budget time, and prioritize to achieve objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise employees, train and coach them, plan and assign work, appraise performance, address complaints, and discipline employees under GM oversight.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand use, reaching, talking, hearing; occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; regularly lift up to 60 lbs.; vision requirements include near and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
