Key Responsibilities
  • Brand Leadership & Thought Partnership
    • Build and elevate the MCU Foundation’s brand as the leading authority on financial empowerment, education, and home ownership for New Yorkers.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to position the Foundation as a go-to resource for leaders, organizations, and communities seeking expertise and partnership in these areas.
    • Represent the Foundation at high-profile events, panels, and forums, sharing insights and advocating for innovative solutions to New York’s most pressing challenges.
  • Strategic Relationship Building
    • Cultivate and sustain relationships with top philanthropic circles, civic leaders, educational institutions, and housing advocates across New York City.
    • Serve as a connector and resource for stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and amplifying the Foundation’s impact.
    • Leverage these relationships to expand the Foundation’s reach, raise funds, and unlock new opportunities for program growth.
  • Program & Operational Management
    • Oversee the successful delivery of the Foundation’s core programs focused on basic necessities, education, and home ownership.
    • Ensure all initiatives are aligned with strategic objectives and deliver measurable value to the communities served.
    • Lead planning and execution of program-related events and initiatives, coordinating closely with partners, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
    • Monitor program performance, impact measurement, and reporting to the Board of Directors.
  • Volunteer Engagement
    • Inspire and lead all aspects of volunteer management, including recruitment, engagement, and retention.
    • Foster a rewarding volunteer experience that maximizes impact for both participants and communities.
  • Fundraising & Resource Development
    • Design and implement innovative fundraising campaigns and strategies to support the Foundation’s mission.
    • Engage with vendor partners and donors, leveraging relationships to drive financial support and program sustainability.
  • Public Relations & Communications
    • Guide and approve all external communications, ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s brand and mission.
    • Serve as the public face of the Foundation, amplifying its message through media, social platforms, and strategic partnerships.
  • Board Support & Strategic Planning
    • Prepare and present detailed reports to the Board of Directors.
    • Lead strategic planning efforts, providing insights to support organizational decision-making, financial planning, and budgeting.
  • Financial Oversight
    • Ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting, collaborating with the finance team and Foundation leadership.
    • Oversee annual budgeting, audits, tax filings, and compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or operations.
  • Demonstrated success in building influential relationships and partnerships within New York City’s philanthropic and civic communities.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to inspire and mobilize diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong financial management and strategic planning skills.
  • Infectious passion for helping New Yorkers and advancing social good.
