The Director of Planning, Building and Development Services, under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), will primarily be responsible for the complete administration, budget and operation of the Planning and Building Divisions, resulting in the growth management, land use functions and development of the Corporation. Provides leadership in the development of a strategic, integrated approach to community development that addresses the environmental, social, cultural and economic interests of the Town.
The successful candidate will have:
- University degree in Planning, Environmental Science or Geography required.
- Professional Planner designation, MCIP and RPP, is an asset.
- Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in a senior position.
- Experience in the administration of building and by-law enforcement is an asset.
- Sound working knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act, Provincial Policies, Ontario Building Code, Provincial Offences Act and other related legislation and regulations.
- Strong leadership, management and experience supervising a team of professionals.
- Must be able to anticipate deadlines and work towards achieving key deliverables.
- Ability to set long-term financial and budgetary goals.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, written and verbal skills.
- Strong research and report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven analytical ability and solutions-oriented.
