Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

A mission-driven nonprofit organization serving communities across New York City is seeking experienced Business Managers to oversee day-to-day business operations at various local branch locations. The organization supports a wide range of community programs focused on youth development, health, and community engagement.

The Business Manager plays a vital leadership role in managing business functions such as budgeting, procurement, financial tracking, payroll, human resources, and compliance with public and private funding sources. The position will be responsible for managing annual budgets ranging from $5 to $10 million and supporting strategic and operational initiatives to ensure financial stability and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all business operations of the assigned branch location.
  • Prepare and monitor the branch budget in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Conduct financial analysis to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage daily cash operations, including reconciliations and bank deposits.
  • Establish and enforce effective procedures for revenue collection and expense tracking.
  • Reconcile billing issues related to government and grant funding in a timely manner.
  • Support strategic planning and conduct competitive market analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external funding requirements.
  • Supervise purchasing activities and enforce procurement policies.
  • Lead and manage the branch’s HR functions, including staff recruitment, training, and evaluation.
  • Participate in senior management meetings and contribute to organization-wide initiatives.
  • Support fundraising campaigns and serve as liaison to finance-related committees.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in financial or business management, including staff supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with financial software platforms such as Oracle and Hyperion is a plus.
  • Nonprofit sector experience is advantageous.
