Reporting directly to the Global Vice President, Total Rewards, the Global Director, Compensation Operations is the senior leader accountable for the effectiveness and efficiency of key global compensation programs. This role owns global job architecture management, job evaluation methodology, and flawless delivery of all annual pay cycles and compliance initiatives across 19 countries. The scope includes development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of executive, salaried, and hourly compensation programs, generating critical data insights, and shaping how leaders and employees engage with them.
The incumbent drives process automation, ensures compensation budgets and practices are defensible, transparent and aligned with Hello Fresh’s strategic goals, and supports our strategy to attract, motivate, and retain talent in a great place to work.
- Global Job Levelling & Evaluation:
Govern and execute the global job architecture including job levelling and titling nomenclature; lead implementation and standardization of the job evaluation methodology used to grade and level all roles worldwide (VP+ down to Front‑Line). - Pay Structure Development & Administration:
Design, model, and maintain global pay structures and salary bands; align pay ranges with strategic market positioning. - Benchmarking & Market Pricing:
Direct the enterprise benchmarking and market pricing process to keep compensation programs market relevant, aligned to the Total Rewards strategy, and internally equitable. - Pay Practice Guidelines:
Develop, document, and publish global pay practice guidelines, tools and policies (e.g., promotions, starting salaries, retention awards) enabling HRBPs and Talent Acquisition while ensuring legal compliance and internal equity. - Policy Development:
Lead the creation and maintenance of formal global compensation policies, ensuring adherence to the Total Rewards philosophy and ease of use for HRBPs, leaders and employees.
- Compensation Budgets & Forecasting:
Lead the annual process for developing, modeling, and securing approval of global Compensation Budgets and forecasting. - Annual Cycle Leadership:
Own end‑to‑end operational execution of major global compensation cycles (merit review, incentives, equity administration) for all employees, ensuring timely, accurate, standard delivery across countries. - Global Compliance Initiatives:
Direct operational execution of key global compliance initiatives, including EU Pay Transparency data collection and legal consultation with Works Councils. - Budget Compliance Oversight:
Implement rigorous financial controls to audit and reconcile Compensation Budget spend against approved Finance targets. - Workday Integrations & Automation:
Lead Workday integrations related to compensation data flow and implement process automation to reduce manual effort and system errors.
- Data Reporting & Insights:
Oversee development and maintenance of executive‑level compensation dashboards and reports for strategic decision‑making and forecasting. - Stakeholder Management:
Foster strong partnerships with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and People Team experts to develop compensation solutions aligned to the Total Rewards strategy. - Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop the global Compensation Operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
