Objectives: Reporting to the Interim Program Director of Community Programs, the Program Director of Family Connections is responsible for delivering high-quality services and ensuring operational excellence. This role provides strategic leadership and guidance to supervisors, case planners, and support staff. The Program Director will serve as a leader, thought partner, and collaborator, managing the team with integrity, expertise, and respect. This individual will be available on-site and virtually as needed and will contribute to advancing Northside’s mission through additional responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and evaluate program practices to ensure compliance with funder and agency metrics and achieve program goals.
  • Collaborate with the Interim Program Director of Community Programs and other agency leadership to develop and refine program specific policies and procedures.
  • Maintain adherence to Northside’s, City, State, and federal reporting requirements.
  • Ensure best practices in service delivery and documentation through oversight, evaluation, and coaching to supervisors, case planners, intake coordinators, and Family Team conference facilitators.
  • Guide issue resolution and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures through organizing monthly staff meetings and team sessions as well as conducting formal weekly supervision to offer ongoing support to staff.
  • Lead recruitment and development in partnership with Human Resources, including hiring, onboarding, assessing training needs, and supporting professional growth.
  • Foster stakeholder engagement and organization representation by attending all meetings scheduled by Northside and regulatory funders as well as developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with community partners and resources.
  • Provide leadership to support the overall mission of Northside as directed by the Interim Director of Community Programs.

  • Model leadership as a Program Director. Child, family, and client-oriented, clinically skilled, culturally sensitive, respected professional, team player, flexible, and agile, with the ability to work in a complex and fast-paced environment and manage multiple relationships and projects under deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience as a Programs Director with leadership and management capability. Proven ability to lead, develop, and teach clinical, educational, and program staff.
  • Sound judgment, empathetic, compassionate, with the ability to manage human dynamics, privacy, confidentiality, and priority on client care and outcomes.
  • Confident, friendly, collaborative, and the ability to work with a diversity of people and engage people at all levels, including clinical, front-line, and professional staff.
  • Experience with family challenged by issues of child abuse and neglect, truancy, mental illness, intimate partner violence, and homelessness.
  • Strong communications, writing, relationship development, interpersonal, presentation, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Critical thinker, analytical, creative, strategic, and detail-and results oriented.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work, Psychology or other related fields required. LMSW preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in child welfare, preventive services, foster care and/or other social service programs including five years of supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Experience working in an ACS funded Evidenced Based Model program preferred.
  • Familiarity with Programs relevant to funding source regulations preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong skills and knowledge of program databases (Connections, PROMIS, Cornerstone preferred).
Compensation & Benefits

Salary commensurate with experience. Northside offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Compensation: $82,000 - $92,000
