Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered Fin Tech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense.

After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the role

We are seeking a strategic and data-driven leader to spearhead our Talent Management and Development function. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive strategy to cultivate, develop, and retain top talent across Flex. Your mandate will be broad, covering everything from evolving our onboarding experience and implementing manager training to building robust leadership programs.

You will act as a key partner to the business, using data to identify needs, measure program ROI, and ensure we are building the capabilities required for our future growth. This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of at least 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

What you’ll do:
  • Develop and lead our strategy and approach to talent management and succession planning to grow talent at Flex
  • Define a talent development strategy and drive the success and adoption of initiatives/programs
  • Build and maintain strategic people programs, including onboarding, a scalable manager and leadership development program (with multiple tracks and iterations), and one-on-one coaching
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance our internal talent pipeline, considering workforce trends and existing capabilities
  • Build curriculum and implement leadership and high performer programs to support growth and retention activities
  • Create and be responsible for relevant metrics and KPIs success; proactively assessing and addressing talent trends and measuring ROI for our programs
  • Evolve the new hire training program, including “first week” as well as first 90 days
  • Identify talent capability gaps and create learning paths to support growth or develop strategies for succession planning
  • Work with department leaders and the broader People team to create meaningful development plans for high potential employees and critical roles
  • Identify and ensure equality in opportunities at Flex integrating that data and learnings into our programs and principles
  • Analyze data to measure the outcomes of programs and process improvement, leveraging results to recognize potential issues, diagnose root causes and craft viable solutions
  • Evaluate, identify, and partner with vendors as needed to procure/customize content
  • Balance team leadership with hands-on execution, working alongside your team to design and deliver key programs
  • Define the future of the team, strategically planning for how this lean function will grow and scale with the company
Who you are
