Position Summary

A property in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced and hands-on Building Manager to oversee daily building operations, staff supervision, cleanliness, and maintenance. This role is responsible for ensuring the building is safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities Building Operations & Maintenance
  • Oversee daily building operations to ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality
  • Monitor and coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies
Staff Supervision
  • Supervise custodial, maintenance, and support staff
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure work is completed to standard
  • Coordinate staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
  • Work with external vendors and contractors for repairs, cleaning, and specialized services
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with building standards
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and internal policies
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and prevent hazards
Administrative Duties
  • Maintain records related to maintenance, staff activity, and building operations
  • Communicate regularly with ownership/management regarding building needs and updates
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Prior experience as a Building Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar role
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills
  • Knowledge of building maintenance, janitorial operations, and basic repairs
  • Ability to multitask and manage day-to-day operations efficiently
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
