Pay Information: The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities

General Purpose
:
This position represents the Director of Employment Programs for the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities  position will independently anticipate, identify and solve problems in promoting smooth operation of all aspects of Employment related projects. The position will be able to work independently and appropriately seek advice about community partnerships and projects. They have direct and sole responsibility for several grant funded projects.

Essential Functions
  • Project Director of Apprenticeship Project
    • Directs grant from NYS Developmental Disabilities Planning Council with responsibility for managing the budget (allocations, spending, reconciliation [must be signed off on by PI]) and grant reporting responsibility.
    • Designs and manages data collection and analysis for project deliverables and ongoing project requests.
    • Prepares analytical reports for mandated funder monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
    • Manage relationship with grant and government agency funders.
  • Lead Job Coach ECHO
    • Identifies and coordinates hub team members for annual Job Coach ECHO cohort.
    • Oversees didactic development.
    • Oversees recruitment efforts and provides support to coordination team.
    • Conducts evaluations and generates reports.
  • Supervise Project Coordinators
    • Provides guidance, work management support, weekly supervision to SCDD project coordinators, who contribute to multiple employment-related projects.
    • Conducts annual performance review of SCDD project coordinators.
  • Oversees development of new employment projects, including grant-writing and external relations
    • Leads team of program directors in developing scopes of work that are collaborative and address current issues in the field of developmental disability.
    • Lead and/or contribute to preparation of grant applications, to fund both existing and new work.
  • Provide Statewide Employment Support
    • Determines relevance of policy activity at State and Federal levels, responding to those that affect people with disabilities with recommendations for future change.
    • Maintains a working knowledge of the area(s) of employment, education, Medicaid and ACD, and HCBS by reviewing research literature and abstracts, attending pertinent meetings and seminars, reporting back to other faculty/Project Directors.
    • Provides guidance to Center leadership on programmatic direction given local, state and federal political landscape.
    • Participates on statewide Employment First and related committees.
    • Work with UCEDD Director and Co-Director to identify target areas for support of state education and initiatives.
    • Write “white papers” and prepare presentations on key issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree – Required
  • Advanced degree with major coursework in an appropriate or related field of policy, disability, special education, or inclusive higher education – Preferred
  • 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience – Required
