Overview

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the building and its grounds.

Responsibilities

Primary

  • Maintaining an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for clients, staff, and public; communicating information in response to inquiries.
  • Providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, clinical activities, and events.
  • Maintaining facilities to minimize facility deterioration and damage.

Secondary

  • Responsible for the safe and orderly operation of the facilities.
  • Participate in monthly inspections to ensure compliance with requirements, cleanliness, and proper upkeep of the facility.
  • Ensure that the facility is clean and always maintained.
  • Strongly and enthusiastically support and participate in advocacy and direct action to end the twin crises of AIDS and homelessness.

Other duties as assigned

  • Ensure that all physical space of a facility is sanitary, clean and orderly.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements for facility maintenance and cleaning supplies are stored properly.
  • Be proactive; keep Facility Manager informed of daily activities and significant conditions that may impact accomplishing tasks assigned.
  • Adhere to the scheduled or routine custodial and maintenance plans to ensure that all common, kitchen and office areas of commercial properties are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly manner (power washing, painting, daily custodian schedule, etc.).
  • Ensures that restrooms are sanitary and attractive throughout the day and have adequate supplies as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • Able to lift 50lbs alone.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Dependable & flexible as well as possessing the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • S95 to be obtained in first 90 days of employment.
  • Basic emailing knowledge.
  • Participate in advocacy and direct action to end the twin crisis of homelessness and HIV/AIDS.
