Job DescriptionJob Summary
The role is accountable for the reliable operation, monitoring, and maintenance coordination of Chillers & HVAC cooling systems, Air Compressors (Clean & Plant Air), and Boilers/Steam Systems at a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical facility. The executive ensures continuous utility availability, energy-efficient operation, GMP/EHS compliance, and supports preventive/corrective maintenance, documentation, and audit readiness.
1) Chillers & Cooling Systems
- Operate and monitor chillers, cooling towers, condenser/evaporator circuits, pumps, and BMS/SCADA dashboards.
- Maintain target CHW supply/return temperatures, ΔT, and kW/TR performance.
- Conduct routine checks on refrigerant levels, oil condition, vibration, water treatment, strainer cleaning, and drift eliminators.
- Coordinate with HVAC team for AHU/process cooling load requirements and demand-side optimization.
2) Air Compressors (Clean & Plant Air)
- Operate screw/reciprocating compressors, dryers (refrigeration/heatless/heat of compression), filters, and receiver tanks.
- Maintain pressure band, dew point, oil carryover, and air quality (as applicable for Clean Compressed Air).
- Perform leak detection & rectification, condensate management, and auto drain checks; ensure dryer performance and differential pressure across filters.
3) Boilers & Steam Systems
- Operate and monitor boilers, feedwater systems, deaerators, steam headers, and condensate return.
- Maintain steam pressure/quality, fuel-to-steam ratio, blowdown schedules, and water chemistry (pH, TDS, hardness, sulfite/PO₄, etc.).
- Coordinate with third-party/boiler attendants; ensure compliance with statutory requirements and safety valves testing.
4) Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Plan and execute PM schedules (CMMS-based) for chillers, compressors, dryers, boilers, pumps, and control valves.
- Support breakdown troubleshooting, perform first-level diagnostics (electrical/mechanical/instrumentation), and escalate to OEM when required.
- Maintain critical spares and consumables (seals, gaskets, filters, oil, belts) inventory.
