Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Location: Fort Drum
Overview
This position is located at Pine Plains Bowling Center. Join our team at the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of Soldiers and their Families by providing essential support services, including child and youth programs and a variety of recreational activities that directly contribute to Soldier readiness and well-being.
Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will NOT be paid.
- Performs comprehensive maintenance, adjustment, and repair on a wide array of bowling equipment that includes mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
- Diagnoses the root cause of equipment malfunctions by using technical manuals, schematics, and various test instruments like continuity testers and voltmeters.
- Conducts hands-on repairs by disassembling equipment, replacing worn or defective parts, cleaning, lubricating, and reassembling machinery.
- Follows a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure equipment reliability and performs repairs on physical infrastructure, including bowling pins and lane surfaces.
- Independently assesses mechanical assemblies to determine whether parts can be reworked or require replacement and makes precise adjustments to ensure proper functionality.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Work involves frequent lifting and carrying parts and assemblies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Occasionally may push or pull larger assemblies weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Work requires frequent bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, standing and working in awkward positions.
- A physical examination, arranged by the employer, is required prior to employment.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
- This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
- Must be willing to accept intermittent, on-call employment.
- Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.
- Experience maintaining, adjusting and repairing a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical and electronic parts, components and assemblies.
- Demonstrated ability to use standard electrical test equipment, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, continuity testers, and test lamp.
- Demonstrated ability to do repairs such as soldering loose connections, burnishing contact points, splicing, insulating exposed wires, replacing defective printed circuit boards.
- Knowledge of the basics of electrical principles and the operating characteristics of electronic components.
