Maintenance Technician

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (occasional early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours may be required to respond to snowstorms or other nonroutine events)

Jowonio School is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities and grounds. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a welcoming environment for children, staff, and families in a mission-driven school community.

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance for building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and structural components
• Assist with interior and exterior upkeep such as painting, light carpentry, and flooring repairs
• Maintain school grounds, including landscaping, mowing, and seasonal snow and ice removal
• Respond to maintenance requests from staff in a timely and professional manner
• Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and event preparation
• Coordinate with contractors and support scheduled building and grounds projects
• Provide occasional janitorial support during emergencies or when coverage is limited

• Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or groundskeeping preferred
• Working knowledge of general maintenance, basic trades, and equipment operation
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and outdoor work
