NYC Housekeeper

Private NYC family seeks an experienced, full-time housekeeper (New York based) to join their positive and collaborative team. This position consists of roughly 8-10 hours per day, 5 days per week, with overtime. The schedule rotates with other team members. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, who takes initiative and has a deep passion for organization and cleanliness. The housekeeper must have a keen eye for detail, be reliable, service oriented, with a hospitality mindset.

Must be willing to travel 2 to 3 times a year (to other residences) and must be available to spend 3 to 4 days weekly in the Hamptons during the summer. 401k and amazing benefits! Driver's license a plus!

• All aspects of general housekeeping, deep cleaning, organizing, and upkeep of the residence including quarterly, annual, and seasonal scheduled tasks
• Consistently maintain the highest level of standards of service and overall efficiency of the residence.
• Thoroughly clean the residences top to bottom and maintain/take note of outdoor appearance.
• Inspect cleanliness of residences from top to bottom, basement to the roof; inspecting all furniture, carpets, upholstery, floors, blinds, windows, curtains, etc. and report any damage or concerns/issues
• Laundress duties
• Polish silver and other metal surfaces
• Organize bookshelves, counters, cabinets, closets, and all other areas
• Maintain house supply inventories, communicating to assistant the need to replenish them
• Work on special projects as needed, perform seasonal deep cleaning projects
• Assist with guests during their stay
• Additional Housekeeper responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the family

• Strong command of the English language; outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a private home with longevity in past position(s)
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable and willing to work in a home with pets and children
• Thorough knowledge of deep household cleaning, laundry, organization, fine arts, and antiques
• Poised and professional in both mindset and manner; use of utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
• Ability to travel to other properties for work
• Valid Driver’s License is required, confident driver with a clean driving record
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employer, family members, guests, and properties
• Legally able to work in the United States
