Overview &Key Responsibilities
At Delta Air Lines, connection is at the heart of everything we do. As a Ground Maintenance Technician in a stationary role, you will be part of the Ground Support Equipment team, specializing in completing repairs and preventive maintenance on motors, controls, PLCs, pneumatic and conveyor systems, and machine shop equipment.
Summary of Responsibilities- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices and using precision measuring tools.
- Determine dimensional changes in parts with rulers, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Ensure proper functioning of mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and electronic equipment through troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.
- Prepare maintenance reports by collecting and analyzing data.
External applicants receive a $5,000 sign‑on bonus, paid in two instalments ($2,500 after 90 days and $2,500 after 180 days). The starting hourly rate is $36.22 with potential increases within 6 months based on certification, shift, and skill differentials.
Eligible Delta employees based in New York City may be reimbursed up to $250 per month for transportation expenses.

- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in English.

- Two‑year technical degree or three years of experience.
- Pass entry tests.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read technical documents and schematics.
- Strong communication and teamwork.
- Respond to customers’ needs with minimal direction.
