Maintenance Worker I

Location: Bronx, New York 10453

The Maintenance Worker I is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds, and for minor repairs.

• High School diploma or GED preferred. Good communication skills.

• Clean all areas and dispose of garbage in accordance with the facility schedule.
• Provide general interior and exterior maintenance (examples: floor stripping, power washing, painting, lightbulb changing).
• Maintain the facility landscape and perimeter (examples: lawn mowing, shrub trimming, snow removal, debris removal).
• Assemble furniture and equipment and maintain in working condition.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Accept and transport deliveries of supplies, furniture, and other program materials.
• Assist in inventory control.
• Be available and provide backup in emergency situations.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee will be in both the residential program and in the office. Work may be inside and outside.

Employee is regularly required to have visual acuity, talk and hear while communicating with peers and/or vendors. This position is sedentary and mobile. May require lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder.
