Hours: Full-time (37.50 hours per week)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Litter pickup in outdoor common areas and sidewalks
• Sweeping sidewalks
• Remove and replace trash bags in trash can
• Sweep and mop interior floors
• Clean and maintenance of the interior and exterior of city-owned properties
• responsible for watering plants
• light touch up paintings
• Graffiti removal
• Window Cleaning
• Watering Flowers/Plants
• Dust/Web Removal
• Cleaning of facilities/restrooms
• Mandatory Snow Removal and possible overtime

Location Responsibilities

• Responsible for all basic cleaning in and around the exterior of the North side building-A to maintain the outdoor grounds (tables/chairs/tree pits/picnic tables/etc,,). 1-X time daily or as needed.•
• Cleaning lobby floors, including wet mopping, dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor. Monday/Wednesday/Fridays or as needed.•
• Clean glass doors and windows, wipe door all window ledges, remove any cobwebsevery Monday and Thursday.
  • Cleans restrooms (total
  2), including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals. 2X-times daily.•
• Disinfect and mop elevators and elevator landings in the area (2 elevators, Sections
  
  J/K/L/M)1-X time daily or as needed.•
• Clean EDC Operations Center, clean bathroom, kitchen,main room, mop/vacuum/change garbage bags/wipe down workstations. Monday/Wednesday/Friday.•
• Check/sweep staircases in the area every Friday.•
• Vacuum, empties trash, and replaces liners. 1-X time daily or as needed.•
• Disinfect commonly used items like elevators, door handles, benches, tables.
  1-X daily or as needed.•
• Mixcleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.•
• Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment (or as needed).•
• Remove snow and ice from walkways, streets loading docks, crosswalks.•
• Performs additional duties, performs heavy cleaning duties as needed.•
• Reporting any breakages, unsafe conditions that occur or seen during the cleaning process to NYC EDC operations staff.
  
  During snow/ice storms staff are expected to be available and at work, this is an emergency detail.

GENERAL SITE KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• Location of all fire alarm control panels (FACP).•
• Location of all elevators (passenger/freight).•
• Know all building sections and phases.•
• Know the locationsof all emergency stairs.•
• Know all loading docks and the corresponding numbers

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have 1 year of recent janitorial experience
• Must have a working phone that is able to download three mobile apps used to complete the job
• Must be in good physical condition and health, without mental or physical disabilities or impairments which would reasonably be expected to interfere with the performance of the services or prevent you from being able to walk your assigned route
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions (rain, snow, sleet, heat, cold)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be age 18 or over
• Must have good attendance and punctuality
