Overview
As an industry leader in wholesale, retail, and residential food distribution, Baldor Specialty Foods continues to grow and evolve at a rapid pace across all departments. The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for planning goods and material needs across the Baldor network, releasing purchase orders, coordinating deployment, and managing inventories of assigned categories in order to meet sales requirements while maintaining an optimized inventory levels.
This position will partner with inbound logistics, operations, merchandising, sales, and accounting, amongst other teams.
includes but is not limited to:
- Execute purchase orders end-to-end for assigned buys, in alignment with scripted buy plans.
- Drive performance against key supply chain metrics, including:
- Maintaining appropriate days‑on‑hand at the SKU level.
- Reducing stockouts through proactive safety stock review and par level monitoring.
- Preventing shrink by managing inventory aging and expiration risk.
- Ensure daily operational hygiene, including accurate system updates and compliance with standard processes.
- Understand and analyze key forecast change drivers by collaborating with cross‑functional teams and monitoring broader market trends.
- Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain challenges and develop action plans to mitigate any future risk.
- Resolve supply disruptions, including those related to inbound transportation, internal schedule changes, and vendor supply interruption.
- Manage inventory write‑off exposure by tracking projected losses and supporting accounting with invoice reconciliation.
- Serve as the first line of vendor management, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution.
- Contribute to category planning by providing data‑driven insights and executional support.
- Support supplier quality and service programs by partnering with quality assurance, merchandising, operations, and transportation to ensure performance metrics are visible to overall organization and supply base.
- Minimum combined of 2 years’ experience in any of these areas:
Supply Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, Buying, Demand Planning, Logistics, and/or Materials Management. - Experience managing foreign suppliers, including compliance with FSMA requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of equivalent experience in F&B Distribution, Production, or a related field.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and time/process management skills preferred.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Flexible outlook and active learner.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build vendor and internal stakeholder relationships.
- Able to professionally communicate clearly: verbally and written.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in ERP/MRP system (Dynamics
365 is a plus). - Basic Excel skills required (V-lookups, pivot tables, and formula entry a must).
- Past participation in S&OP (or SIOP) process, capacity planning, measuring KPIs preferred but not required.
- Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau is preferred but not required.
- Onsite 4 days per week in Bronx, NY location.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
