Join a globally respected, high-performing executive search firm at an exciting moment of growth as it launches its New York office in Q2. Headquartered in London, this highly regarded legal recruitment business is expanding its US footprint and is now seeking an experienced legal recruiter to join as a founding consultant for its New York hub.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of the ground-floor build-out of a well-capitalised, elite legal search platform in Manhattan — working alongside a relocating partner and helping to shape the firm’s US presence from day one. The firm already operates extensively across the US market from London and is now investing in permanent, on-the-ground headcount in New York to accelerate growth and deepen client relationships.
With a standout commission structure starting at 40% and scaling to 60%, plus an optional investment plan that allows fee earners to reinvest commission to further enhance long-term earnings, this role offers exceptional earning potential.
You will focus on high-value, partner- and team-level mandates across key practice areas including:
- M&A & Private Equity
- Finance & Restructuring
- Litigation, Regulatory & Antitrust
- Strategic Growth (e.g. helping firms open new offices or build new practices)
The firm’s 2025 track record includes advising on the opening of a major US firm’s fifth European office in Frankfurt, the addition of a high-profile debt finance partner in London, and the launch of another US firm’s seventh European office in Munich.
As a Recruitment Consultant, you will:- Identify, engage, and advise senior legal candidates across your specialist market
- Build and manage long-term relationships with leading law firms and partners
- Work closely with leadership on strategic client mandates
- Develop deep expertise across your chosen legal practice areas
- Contribute to the growth and culture of a new New York office
- Drive your own business plan while benefiting from an established global brand
- 1–3 years of experience in legal recruitment (or a closely related professional services market)
- A strong track record of billing and hitting targets
- Confidence working toward KPIs in a fast-paced, competitive environment
- Commercial mindset and entrepreneurial drive
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ambition to play a visible role in building something new
