Tax Planning Associate

Katten, an Am Law 100 law firm, seeks a highly qualified Associate to join its Tax department in the Chicago, New York, or Washington, DC offices. Qualified candidates should have 2–5 years of experience.

Candidates can expect to work on a variety of transactional tax matters, including finance and structured finance transactions, real estate investments, mergers and acquisitions and inbound and outbound investments. Candidates should be from a nationally recognized law firm or accounting firm. All candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have excellent analytical, writing and interpersonal skills. In particular, candidates should have a desire to learn and interact collaboratively with other departments.

Candidates are required to be bar licensed in the state/district in which they are applying or immediately eligible for admission on waiver.

The estimated salary range for this position is $235,000 to $365,000. Salary determinations are based on numerous factors, such as, but not limited to class and graduation year, job history, and experience within the desired practice area of the selected candidate.
