Legal Counsel

Overview

Legal Counsel (mid-level) — North America Office of General Counsel. The attorney will focus primarily on commercial transactions, with the ability to draft, negotiate and manage deals independently. The candidate should have 8+ years in a leading law firm or in-house legal department and possess excellent legal, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. The attorney is expected to work directly with the business team and provide counseling on an as-needed basis.

• Draft, negotiate and manage commercial transactions independently.
• Provide counseling to the business team on legal implications and solutions as needed.
• Partner with colleagues and client leadership to build credibility for the functional area and discuss strategic business issues, implications, and potential solutions.
• Manage project and assignment statuses and relationships by identifying issues and developing mitigation strategies.
• Lead effective meetings with senior executives, reaffirm client expectations, manage scope, and allocate resources to ensure milestone achievement and risk management.

• 8+ years of experience in a leading law firm or in-house legal department.
• Ability to draft, negotiate and manage deals; strong legal and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple tasks with prioritization.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong work ethic.
