An established, high-ranking Am Law 200 law firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage and Litigation Associate to join its New York office. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a driven and motivated associate to develop a long-term career within a growing and dynamic national practice. The successful candidate will work on sophisticated matters involving complex insurance coverage and litigation issues across a broad range of financial lines.
Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of insurance coverage disputes, with a primary focus on financial lines, including D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Cyber, Media, and E&O policies
- Handle substantial insurance coverage litigation at both trial and appellate levels, as well as an increasing number of matters involving the defence of insureds
- Analyse complex legal and factual issues relating to insurance coverage and defence
- Draft coverage opinions, coverage correspondence, pleadings, and legal memoranda at trial and appellate stages
- Develop and implement efficient and effective resolution strategies
- Communicate clearly and responsively with clients, delivering a consistently high level of service
- Meet all court-mandated and internal deadlines
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice in the State of New York
- 2–8 years of litigation experience
- 2–8 years of insurance coverage experience
- Federal court practice experience is highly regarded
- Prior judicial clerkship experience is advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Competitive salary with an estimated range of $140,000–$190,000 USD
