Employment Counsel - Financial Services Industry

A Top Hedge Fund is currently seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join their leading team in NY. This role provides an opportunity to advise on a wide range of employment law and HR matters in a complex, highly regulated environment.

• Advise on employment law issues including workplace investigations, terminations, discrimination, harassment, accommodations, compensation, benefits, recruiting, and immigration.
• Develop and maintain employment agreements, templates, and policy playbooks.
• Collaborate with HR and business leaders to design compliant, scalable employment practices.
• Oversee outside counsel in managing disputes and litigation.
• Track regulatory changes and implement proactive compliance strategies.
• Support organizational initiatives such as restructurings, compensation programs, and cross‑functional investigations.

• J.D. and active bar membership (New York preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of employment law experience, with a mix of law firm and in‑house roles.
• Proven ability to deliver practical, business‑focused advice in complex environments.
• Strong communication skills and sound judgment.
• Experience managing outside counsel and leading cross‑functional projects.
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of executive compensation, benefits, or international employment law.
