Associate Director Business Development

We are pleased to be partnering with a leading global law firm to help them hire an Associate Director for their US BD team based here in New York. The role will play a pivotal part in the firms overall BD leadership team and will be focusing on their transactional BD team.

Within the role you will have the opportunity to create and devise the BD strategy for the group whilst also having the support of a peer group of senior BD professionals and more junior talent for you to coach and develop too, making this an exciting opportunity for a Legal BD professional.

The firm has desires for someone to have experience operating in the finance/transactional area of a law firm; however we are open to individuals making a lateral move alongside those operating at senior manager level seeking to make that step up to Associate Director for the first time.

Core duties included within the role:

• Be the main point of contact for the leadership team, becoming a trusted advisor to them on the market and curating and development BD and marketing strategies to help the partners deliver on their business plans.
• Work with the practice leads to create a thought client strategy for the firm, including cross selling opportunities within current clients and monitoring market trends to advise on potential new business opportunities for the firm.
• In tandem with the firms central functions, work to increase the firms brand presence in specific markets, through creating thought leadership pieces and other marketing collateral.
• Play a pivotal role in the management team of the firms BD function, fostering a collaborative relationship with senior leadership and peer groups. Helping out on firmwide projects as and when needed.
• Help develop and nurture junior talent within the BD team, taking an interest in their professional development and career growth within the firm.
