This newly created role is part of our expanding, centralized docketing team and reports to the Senior Manager of Practice Support Services. The Docket Specialist plays a critical role in supporting attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative assistants across all practice groups, with a strong focus on managing case‑specific information in responsible jurisdictions. After a comprehensive training period, this position will transition into a hybrid‑remote schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Enter, update, and monitor critical litigation dates and deadlines in Compu Law, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and state rules.
- Research applicable court rules and answer procedural questions from attorneys and staff.
- Review and process incoming case‑related notices and correspondence.
- Generate clear, accurate docket reports and perform quality control checks on all entries.
- Complete special projects assigned by the Docket Administrator and Senior Manager of Practice Support Services.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures, especially in litigation practice areas.
- Understanding of federal and state court rules.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively across all levels of the Firm.
- Willingness to work overtime or travel if needed.
- Associate Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Experience with Compu Law or similar rules‑based calendaring systems required.
- Minimum of three years of docketing, administrative, or paralegal experience in a law firm setting.
For applicants that meet the experience requirements for the role and are physically based in New York City, NY, the expected salary range is $75,000 – $90,000 annually upon commencement of employment. Starting salary will be determined on an individualized basis with consideration to prior experience and additional qualifications. This is in addition to a comprehensive benefit package offered by the Firm.
