A fast-growing fintech firm is seeking a General Counsel to lead critical negotiations and provide strategic legal guidance. This is an exceptional role for a Counsel with fintech experience who wants to combine legal expertise with operational impact. As the first legal hire on the team, this individual will play a key role in scaling the business.

• Negotiate credit and financing agreements
• Manage relationships with custodians and address broker‑dealer registration inquiries
• Collaborate with external counsel on complex legal matters
• Integrate legal insights into business strategies
• Ensure compliance across tax, securities, and corporate law

• J.D. from Top Law School
• 5+ years of experience at a Top Tier Law Firm or relevant in‑house experience
• Fintech experience a plus
• Open to working on a small, highly skilled team
• Able to work with the business side and collaborate with important stakeholders
• Willingness to learn new skills and be adaptable to the growth of the firm
• Strong knowledge of tax law, securities law, and corporate financing agreements
• Skilled in relationship management and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to combine legal expertise with operational insight
• Excellent communicator with a proactive, solutions‑driven mindset
