Position OverviewA well-established New York defense litigation firm is selectively expanding its litigation team in response to sustained caseload growth and active matters.
The firm is open to considering either an experienced Trial Attorney with meaningful courtroom responsibility or a strong Second-Seat Litigation Attorney with solid motion practice and courtroom exposure, prepared to take on increasing responsibility over time.
This is a hands‑on litigation role offering real case ownership, consistent courtroom involvement, and direct collaboration with firm leadership. The firm is focused on long‑term fit and thoughtful growth, not high‑volume hiring.
Work Arrangement- Hybrid schedule based primarily out of the firm’s Manhattan office
- Brief initial onboarding period (approximately 1–2 weeks) prior to transitioning into the hybrid schedule
- Manage civil defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Conduct and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery materials
- Work directly with partners on case strategy and client communication
- Serve as first‑chair or second‑chair, depending on experience level
- Defense‑side litigation experience with meaningful courtroom exposure
- Strong legal writing skills and sound professional judgment
- Comfortable handling responsibility independently while collaborating closely with partners
- New York Bar admission required
