Program OverviewDLA Piper’s Litigation group seeks exceptional law students to join the 2027 summer program in the following offices:
Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. The program is a 10‑week immersion in trials, appeals, and related counseling, along with Pro Bono opportunities. You will receive tailored training, work with a dedicated team, and build network through social events, gaining insight into what life is like as an associate at DLA Piper.
Candidates
Law students with a demonstrated interest in litigation, including a preference for those who have participated in Law Review or Moot Court. Candidates should be entrepreneurial, motivated to build legal skills, and enjoy teamwork.

EssentialJob Expectations
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties; produce deliverables and respond to correspondence promptly.
- Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product, maintaining deadlines and expectations.
- Foster positive work relationships and comply with all firm policies and practices.
- Engage in both physical and sedentary tasks—working at a computer, participating in virtual conference calls and meetings.
- Work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
- Perform any tasks, projects, or duties assigned by the firm.
Law students must have completed the equivalent of four semesters of law school prior to the start of the 2027 Summer Program.
Physical DemandsSedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently for lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects, including the human body. Extended periods of sitting, with occasional walking and standing.
Work EnvironmentHybrid schedule with in‑office expectations. Weekly pay is currently expected to be $4,326.
