We are seeking an experienced French Translator to support our team on an as-needed basis
, translating and editing customer-facing materials related to cosmetic and bath product packaging. This role goes beyond direct translation and requires a strong understanding of cultural nuance, regional language differences, and regulatory terminology within the beauty and personal care industry. The ideal candidate ensures translated content maintains brand voice, clarity, and cultural relevance for French-speaking markets.

• Translate and edit product packaging content from English to French (and French to English as needed)
• Review and refine translated materials to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness
• Adapt messaging to reflect market-specific tone, cultural context, and consumer expectations
• Translate product descriptions, ingredient listings, usage instructions, marketing copy, and compliance language
• Ensure consistency across packaging, labels, inserts, and customer-facing documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams including Product Development, Marketing, and Compliance
• Maintain terminology consistency aligned with brand standards and cosmetic industry regulations
• Proofread translated content prior to production and print deadlines

• Native or near-native fluency in French and English
• Proven experience translating within cosmetics, beauty, personal care, or consumer packaged goods
• Strong understanding of localization vs. direct translation
• Familiarity with cosmetic terminology, ingredient naming conventions, and packaging requirements preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and editing skills
• Ability to manage quick-turn projects and shifting priorities
• Experience working with packaging or production timelines is a plus
