We’re looking for a seasoned Insurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep experience in claims, underwriting, or actuarial workflows> to evaluate, guide, and enhance AI and LLM-driven models powering next‑generation insurance operations.

🔍 What You’ll DoAI Evaluation & Optimization
- Evaluate AI and LLM-based models used in underwriting, claims processing, risk assessment, and pricing.
- Identify gaps, biases, edge cases, and limitations using real‑world insurance logic
. - Partner with AI, data science, and product teams to improve model accuracy, reliability, and compliance
. - Assess AI impact on policy retention, renewals, loss ratios, and customer experience
.
Validation Against Industry Standards
- Ensure AI outputs align with insurance best practices, regulatory requirements, and market realities
. - Define and apply evaluation rubrics and scoring frameworks for model performance.
- Validate outputs against underwriting rules, claims workflows, and risk KPIs.
- Provide insurance domain expertise to support data annotation and labeling efforts
. - Review and contextualize datasets involving:
- Policy language
- Risk variables and pricing factors
Prompt Engineering & LLM Guidance
- Collaborate on prompt design and refinement to improve LLM accuracy and reasoning.
- Help reduce hallucinations and ensure AI responses are insurance‑safe and regulation‑aware
. - Translate complex insurance concepts into clear AI instructions and evaluation criteria
.
Explainable AI & Transparency
- Support explainable AI initiatives to ensure model decisions are auditable, transparent, and trustworthy
. - Help stakeholders understand why models behave the way they do.
Regulatory & Market Awareness
- Stay current with evolving insurance regulations, compliance standards, and AI innovations
. - Flag regulatory, financial, or customer‑risk implications of AI outputs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business
, or a related field. - 7+ years of hands‑on insurance experience in one or more of the following:
- ✔ Claims
- ✔ Insurance Product Management
- Strong understanding of policy structures, rating variables, claims lifecycle, and regulatory frameworks
. - Experience collaborating with cross‑functional tech teams (AI, data science, engineering, product).
- Exposure to AI/ML or LLM‑based systems (evaluation, testing, annotation, or validation).
- Experience defining rubrics, scoring frameworks, or QA standards
. - Familiarity with prompt engineering or human‑in‑the‑loop AI evaluation
. - Ability to apply expert judgment to determine whether AI outputs are safe for real insurance decisions
